About the Antun Gustav Matoš
The building was built in 1939. The children’s home is working since 1945.
The home takes care of about 60 between the ages of 7 and 18.
The subsidiary works with small groups of children with behavioral issues, for which they are in intensive treatment for.
Numerous extracurricular activities: sports, music, computer workshops, art activities, etc. It helps in resocialization and education of children.
Quality of life in the home significantly contributes to the involvement of many volunteers.
Location and organization
Location of the facility
The home is situated in three buildings located in the area of Trešnjevka. It is well connected with all parts of the city and surrounding area. The children have access to a number of primary and secondary schools, medical, sports, cultural and other institutions.
The home is located near the secondary school for children with special needs (Zagorska ulica).
Organization
The “Antun Gustav Matoš” subsidiary is organized in such a way that it provides the following services for children and young adults without parents and children and young adults without appropriate parental care as well as for parents or foster parents:
-Accommodation service
– Accommodation service for boys up to age 14 with severe behavioral disorders
– Half day stay service
– All day stay service
– All day care service for boys up to the age of 14 with severe behavioral disorders
– Housing service with comprehensive support arranged
– Housing service with occasional support
– Counseling and support services for primary and foster families
– Counseling and assistance service for children and young people after leaving care and for children placed in foster families
